Black Bear Calling - Distress Calls

Black Bear Calling

On the bear calling, there are a few videos out there on bear calling and bear calls.

What I know about them is it is a lot like horn rattling. You set up in an area calling loud for about 30 seconds to a minute. Then you start tapering down with the loudness like the animal is weekening.

Wait a few minutes then repeat same sequence. Do this for about 20 to 30 minutes. If nothing shows up move to a new location a few hundred yards away.

The fawn and rabbit distress calls are very good choices.

Most importantly is, always make sure you have your back covered.

Meaning, make sure you set up so a bear cannot come in behind you and possible attack you by surprise.

Because this could happen. Always sit in a way that the bear cannot come up behind you. You also want to sit where you can see the bear coming.

Don't sit in real thick cover all around you. Then have fun and good luck.
