Black Bear Facts 2009
Wildlife biologists with the New-Brunswick Department of Natural Resources have compiled preliminary black bear facts for the 2009 black bear harvests season.
An upper first premolar is collected at the time of registration
for age analysis. Teeth were sectioned and
cementum annuli counted by Matson’s Lab in Milltown, Montana, to estimate age of harvested
bear.
