Crossbows

Crossbows have become a very lethal and popular hunting weapon. More and more States and Provinces are legalizing it for hunting. And rightfully so!
There are some on the market that are equal to or better than some of today's best compound bows. By this I mean in quality and the ability to take game cleanly at fairly long distances.
Even though long distance is not a factor in Archery.
Most animals taken with Archery equipment are taken under 25 yards.
And that is what Archery is all about, up close and personal.
Bow manufactures are adding crossbows to their lineup. And new companies are popping up every year.
They are for everyone looking for a new weapon to hunt with, young or old.
Or for new hunters looking to get into Archery.
There are some for every budget or abilities.
A rope cocking aid greatly reduces the ease of cocking this weapon.
But if you have a disability, just about every company has a cranking style cocking aid.
With the cranking style, anyone can cock it. It's that easy!
They slip on the butt of the stock and have a string that has two pulley style hooks on it.
You just pull them out and hook them to the string and crank the string up into place.

Speeds and kinetic energy are phenomenal.
You can take any animal on the planet with these weapons. And you don't have to spend tons of money.
As with the compound bows, carbon arrows are the norm.
They are so strong and stiff, it is like shooting a steel rod.
But for those who still prefer aluminum, there are aluminum bolts as well. ( Bolts are what the arrows are called for a crossbow).
Just about all of it have the hardware to attach a sling for caring.
You can even use your favorite sling from your rifle. And just like it's cousin, the compound bow.
There are a multitude of broadheads to choose from. From your favorite broadhead, to broadheads made especially for those.
They come in packages, so you are ready to get out and shoot when you leave the Archery shop.
Packages include either a lighted single dot or multiple dot scope. Or a multi line scope, that looks like the scope used on a rifle.
Arrows, quivers are included, and even a sling and rope cocking aid come with some packages.
And sighting in, is as easy as sighting in your favorite rifle.
Adjusting left or right and up or down is the same.
One of the best features is the anti dry fire system on most of them.
With this feature. You cannot pull the trigger and release the string, without an arrow in it.
They also have a safety just like a gun. But don't get caught up in the concept that they are just like a gun.
Because they are not! They are a bow and should be thought of and used as such.
So if you would like to add a new way to take your favorite animal.
Try a crossbow.
