My wife Deb took some time off from behind the camera, and
spent some time in front of the camera.
Then, we headed back to New Brunswick, Canada for a bear hunt. This hunt would be special for both of us. Deb would finally get the chance to harvest a bear of her own , and I would get to film her.

Our trip started out in the pre dawn hours leaving Pennsylvania. We would travel through parts of six states before reaching New Brunswick.
As always though, we would make one stop over for a nights stay before crossing the border at Van Buren, Maine. I never like to travel late at night in this part of New Brunswick. The moose population is very high and your chances of a moose stepping out on the roadway are high as well.
You don't want to have a collision with one of them.
The following morning we are back on our way bright and early. As luck would have it, we saw a nice moose. What a thrill for a Pennsylvania hunter!
We arrived in New Brunswick early that Sunday afternoon. After
meeting our guide we headed to camp to unload our gear. That night we enjoyed spending time with our Outfitter friends before getting a good night's sleep.
Our first two nights on stand were unusually cold, the bears were a no show.
Women Bear Hunting THE ACTION
Wednesday we decided to change locations and we headed to one of our favorite stands. It turned out to be a good move, a two and a half year old bear came in. Deb decided to let this bear walk off, in hopes of a bigger bear showing up. We had one and a half hours of hunting time left, and Deb was confident she would see another bear.
Then, the same bear came back. This time the bear is not so eager to come to the bait. Instead he tantalizes Deb for over a half hour, walking out in front of us. Even sitting down on the path we came in on for five minutes. By now Deb has made up her mind that she has sat long enough in a tree stand, and wanted to take this bear.
The bear walked off to our right and disappears.
Then when it looked like our night was over, Deb spots the bear coming towards the opening in front of our stands. I focused the camera on the bear and gave Deb the ok to shoot, if she wanted. With camera light fading fast, it was now or never .
The bear took a few more steps into the opening and stopped. Deb settles the crosshairs on the bears vitals.
When the bear started to take a step closer to the bait, I heard the gun go off. The bear dropped instantly. And when I turned the camera back to my wife, I saw the most beautiful smile I ever seen.
